MH minimum light times

My 90 gallon saltwater aquarium is lightly populated with brain corals, leathers, and assorted others. It's been overrun with algea in the last 6 months, so I'm on a mission to reduce the nutrients in the water and insert more algea eaters!

For my tank, I was wondering if anyone had advice on the minimum time I could run my 300watts of MH lighting to keep the good guys alive, and starve the algea as much as possible. They currently run about 9 hours a day.

i think you can cut it down an hour every few days untill you reach 5 hours. Thats as low as I would go. Its not going to starve the algea out, but it will reduce the light available to them per day, obviously. Gotta figure out how to remove the nutrients now.
