Miami Sucks

:D Well it's not really that Miami sucks, but your roads are insane!!!!! We drove over there yesterday and got so lost, we ended up somehow driving through the ghetto and through tons of construction, then we somehow got in a traffic jam. We we got to south beach though,b ut it was like 5pm when we got there lol On the way back we got lost in that big highway clove loopty loop thing and there were so many cars and everyone was driving crazy and and and and i almost had a heat attack!! Thank god i wasn't driving or i would have pulled over and i would still be sitting in the car refusing to move. Ok now that i got all that off my chest, lol All i wanted to do was go to the zoo:mad: Oh well next trip will be better planned and i'll have to stop at some of the LFS too and hopefully i'll make it to the zoo :D

lol, i agree with you 100%. down there is so crazy, and everyone drives like ***holes. it has its goods and bads i guess though. I just went to Miami Beach last night, the area i drove through was sooooo nice.

but ive been in the ghetto quite a few times too lol.

LOL Its a defense mechanism we've developed to discourage people moving here! No seriously its nuts and the ghetto is scary. The trick is to have a good map and the route planned out ahead of time. But if you only got into 1 traffic jam then it was a light day. :)

yeah south beach was nice last night, but we left around sunset, because of the drive home. Boy it sure felt good when we reached naples though, i knew we were almost there :D Reminds me why i love the west coast lol Here was miami beach when we went yesterday.

Sounds like the Golden Glades Interchange, to me (where I-95, the Palmetto Expressway and the Florida Turnpike all meet). I lived down here for ten years before I went anywhere near there, and the first time I did it was a Sunday afternoon when it was nice and quiet.

Itââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s just the fun of living in a big metropolitan area where half the drivers are afraid to go faster than 50, while the other half think 90 mph is too slow.

No one uses their turn signal. And, if you show the slightest sign of hesitation or fear, everyone will honk at you.

yeah i think thats what it was, scary lol I thought it was bad over here in the west coast  The only thing i hate about over here is no one owns a car under $200,000 (i'm exaderating. (i can't spell) ) and they drive psyco, but you don't want to hit one of thoes, because they probally cost more than your insurance will cover. But at least there isn't the big huge clover loop things lol

any of you being in domincan republic theres not to many laws lol to drive miami is a ball park compair to DR

Amber, Miami as a city is actually pretty nice however, like every big city in this country that I have visited or lived in you will find the ghetto areas and very rich ones, South Beach is not a local spot in fact it is mostly a tourist area, most people living here will not dare trying to go anywhere at 5pm specially South beach!
I have actually gone your way a couple of times and I avoid getting to the Naples area from 4:30 pm to 6pm as you know well I-75 becomes a parking lot for miles every weekday.
As far as the drivers are concern, I must agree that this is the worst place I have ever seen, I think it is because...........who the hell knows why? all I know is that if it isn't a lost tourist trying to get off an exit from the far left lane, it is a motorcycle gang going a zillion miles per hour or our dearest retirees colony driving 35MPH on I95!!! But all and all as far as I am concern this is the best place for me to liveââ"šÂ¬Ã‚¦.I just Love it!

It probally is nice, i only saw like 1% of the city and not quite the best areas lol When we go next time i wasnt it kinda planned better. What are some good things to see in miami? I know i want to go to the zoo, south beach was cool to look at but it was full of teens and college students (even though they are my age, but i guess i'm in a differnt place in my life, having 2 kids and all) But where are some cool places to check out? I was looking at the seaquarium, but i was reading about all the animal abuse and that poor killer whale thats in the tiny pool.

The Zoo is very nice, specially if you have kids, you can choose between walking or going on the monorail which stops in each one of the main attractions....I like that! I think you get a discount as a Fl resident.
There is also parrot world, monkey jungle, butterfly world and of course the keys, also the museum of natural history and planetarium are pretty cool, I could go on and on but I guess it depends what you like doing, I find this city to have a good mix of things to do, oh, I forgot if you come with kids try Wanadoo city, my kids love it, a little expensive but once inside they could be the whole day inside with a ton of activities and it is located inside the Sawgrass mall so you can go shopping while they have fun.

where is the sawgrass mall? We wanted to check out any big malls in miami too.

Sawgrass Mills Mall...

Just north of the I-75, I-595 and Sawgrass Expressway interchange (way out in western metro Broward County). Go north on the Sawgrass Expressway and take the first exit (Sunrise Blvd). The Mall is on the north side of Sunrise Blvd.

Yeah but at least LA have at least 6 or 7 freeways to choose, you should try Boston on rush hour and the "eternal" construction, it is unreal

Of course, choosing to make your first trip to Miami during a major Spring Break invasion gives you a bit of a distorted view. Living on Miami Beach, I try not to drive at all during the invasion weeks, including Memorial and Labor day weekend.

Lol, i figured that might have added some of the insanity lol Espically with that TLC party going on :D I do have to admit that the water was really pretty over there, the water over here isn't as clear because of the river. The beach was really littered though, with beer bottles and ciggeretts, but thats probally do to the whole spring break thing. I did expect the beach to be more crouded than it was, over here fort myers beach in insane too. Fort myers beach is just like a mini miami beach lol
