mini mantis food

Ok..here's the tricky question. What do you think a .5"-.75" mantis eats? Need ideas as I know he'll probably do just fine in my 20g, but would rather keep him in a smaller tank where he won't get killed :D

Try some frozen food like brine shrimp, small krill, mysis.
All my small mantis shrimps like this small food.

We have a couple dozen species in the 1-3 cm range and generally feed them live brine (frequently enriched with Selco). We keep them in small 1-4 l tanks and use foam filters on the pump intake to keep the brine from being sucked in. It also helps to turn down the flow during feeding. A 2 cm gonodactylids will eat a dozen or so adult brine a day. Amphipods also work, but are more difficult to come by unless you cultrue them yourself. Are small animals also will take piecies of frozen shrimp 2-3 mm in diameter.

Thanks for the info Roy. Any thoughts as to whether they'll take some frozen cyclopeeze? Also, any thoughts as to getting a picture of him? Would a macrolens on a decent camera be the best way?

Generally stomatopods are slow to take to any new food, but they usually come around.

A macro lens or extension ring is probably essential.
