mollusk ID?

Not sure if this is possible without a picture but I'll describe it the best I can. A few months ago, I bought some shrooms and they came on what appears to be a mollusk of some sort. The shell is all broken up and there is only a little bit left on the top and on the bottum but from what I can tell, it is smooth and black. There is an opening in the flesh at one end that is whitish with black stripes and another opening 90 degrees from that one. They open and close everyday so I know its still alive, I just have no idea what it is. I do feed micro vert so its probably living off of that I'm guessing. Has anyone else had something similar to this? It looks old, has tiny clam and snail shells inbedded into the side of the body and the shell part. The shell doesn't open up or anything, just sits there but it does seem to shoot water out one opening and move about a quarter of an inch if it is disturbed. Can it stay in my tank or should I take it out?

Extremely difficult to ID without a picture. However my general rule is unless I catch it in the act of attacking a clam/coral/fish/etc., it stays. Try to get a good photo of the critter from all angles, and post to Dr Ron's forum. I bet he can help.
