Wow! $80 bucks? I hate to say it, but I think you got robbed. That coral looks like it would be extremely easy to frag. I would have held out for a piece that was 1/8 the size, and 1/8 the price. JMO.

As long as your happy though, that's all that matters. :)

I'm not sure what exact kind of leather it is. Yea, I knew I might have spent too much for it, I haven't seen any other leather frags for anything close to that. I bought it on Ebay, so it wasn't like I could ask the LFS for a smaller frag. I just really liked the coloration. Looking at corals the past few months, I haven't come across any leathers that have the same look.

Cornbred has a similar toadstool listed as a rare Japanese for $199. The polyps aren't as long in his pic, but the base looks similar.

yep, im trying to secure a piece of it right now. It's the only toadstool ive come across that matches what I have: neon green base and neon green tentacles/polyps....cornbread's is the typical sarcophyton look, mine is a bit different with the crazy long tentacles and miniscule polyps....

im aiming to get a side by side shot of the two one day...will post it here lol ;)

gorgeous coral! never seen anything with such a colour. but i do have something that I would say is very similar....i've also never seen it before, but it was a hitchhiker on a rock of rhodactis shrooms.....neon yellow/green polyps, greyish base...looks just like yours. I haven't been able to ID too, but mine is small at the moment.

I have several photosynthetic sea fans sim (but mine are much larger) to what I have seen on DD selling for $100+.

lol...i think you're in the wrong forum...stick to what you know. Plus, the question was in regards to LPS, not SPS, so your response is somewhat...useless.

some softies have higher light tolerances and are amenable to a higher placement in the home tank (and on a reef at large) than SPS. And some softies require more light and can handle higher sustained light intensities than LPS, fo shizzle.

Patwa,

My bad, didn't read carefully enough. My error, but hey, thanks for the heaping helping of condescending attitude.

I have a 100 gallon reef full of LPS and softies, and am quite aware of their light needs.

Heaven forbid I make an error.
