mounting a 55W PC over a 30G?????

hey what's up guys. I have a question about mounting a 55 W PC light over a 30g tank. The light is to short so I mounted in on egg create but now there is a ton of salt spray and I'm afraid that the dried salt on the egg create will fall into the tank and will hurt my fish. please let me know how you would mount it. can I drill into it and mount it from the ceiling? any help would be awesome

what brand is it? coralife has mounting legs and a hanging kit...

you could just build it into a canopy.

im not sure of the brand i will need to check when i get home. But it did have mounting legs they were just to short for my tank and it does not look like it has a hanging kit. how far off of the tank should the light be?

also will a glass top help with water Evaporation

i have heard that the salt creep not only doesn't hurt but that you should reintroduce it to your tank on a regular basis, just dont let it land on sessile inverts.
