Mover Recommendations Needed

Well my new tank and stand are finally getting shipped from Miracles Aquarium in Canada. Does anyone have any recommendations for movers that can move the tank from the truck into my basement. I want to go with someone that people recommend rather than take a chance. Thanks.

Rick

When I worked as a Telecom Manager, we exclusively used John deGrand and sons out of West Haven. They are very conscientous, and I would definitely trust them to move a tank. They would move million-dollar telecom cabinets for us and we never had a problem.

Give them a call,

Mike

Well if you decided to muscle it in yourself, give me a call. i'll be over to help, hell I never had a hernia before, but there's aways a first time. a hernia may finally give me the perfect excuse to lay around on the couch ;)

Mike, thanks for the tip on John deGrand and Sons. I'll give them a call tomorrow.

Dave, thanks for the offer. It's tempting, but the tank is going to weigh about 700 lbs and the stand is going to weigh about 750. I don't want to risk anybody getting hurt.

Anybody else with mover recommendations?

Congratulations on the new setup , I agree with Mike , I remember trying to move that 500 into my old job as a straight shot through a window with about 15 people and that was no joke at all . Its worth the cash to have a insured company to do it for you than a couple well meaning reef friends (no offense) . Good luck and dont hesitate to pm me if there is anything I can help you with . But by the looks of your old tank you wont be needing it . Make sure to post some pics of the setup if you can . Also your fungia is doing great , glowing green , and looks like its ready to pop off some babies .

I just saw that "420 gallon display in the works" in your current tanks.. You need to post pics of this going up!! When you do get "official" movers I'd be curious how much they charged for a very large tank..
