moving a clam

is there any way to move a clam that has spun itself onto a rock? it's been in the same spot for about a year now.

I am in the same boat as yoiu since ill be moving some clams that are atached to live rock to there new clam tank soon....likly Ill just move the entire rock they are atached to.....one other method is taking a sharp scape and cutting the threads near the rock...Im not sure if an ice cube on the threads would cause the clam to release or not like an anemonies foot would...

ice cube a clam's bissal thread? good idea!
But using a razor to carefully cut the thread attached to the rock is a more guaranteed and faster way to remove the clam.
