Moving a huge tank

There is a huge (9 feet long) tank with stand and hood they are "putting in the dumpster" at work, because 1 of the 3 panes of glass comprising the bottom is cracked. It wouldn't be too hard to patch it with another piece siliconed right over the bottom. Anyhow, I was thinking of storing it in my garage or something till the day I have enough cash to turn it into an aquarium of some sort. The guy I work with said he would take it but he has no room. Are there moving companies who can move this kind of thing, and if so, do you think it's worth the cost? .. maybe I will just have to turn my garage into a fishroom! How much do you think that would run? It's about half hour from my house.

Do iT!!!!

I needed 6 guys to lift my tank and we nearly died. Any mover will move it, hard part is getting it down off the stand and back up. Figure 8 guys.

I had the seller help me load it (we hired a couple of guys "standing around" to help also) and had friends help offload.

Total delivery/move/"temp" help from Queens to Montauk was under $500.

If you're going to pass, I call dibs on second in line. I want to build a local species tank in the garage. :)
