MTC skimmer club!

Well, just 2 weeks and Mag24 just die. I never think this can happen on that pump, but just stop. It is going back for warranty. Will put the old mag I have until new comes home for my HSA-1000. Anyone has an experience like this with this pump? I had have like 6 pumps of this brand and they are still rocking!!!

Never. Solid pumps. After many years, I've had one occasionally not want to start back up. But that's about it.
That said, I have not purchased one in a number of years, so I cannot comment on if their build quality is as good as in the past.

That is not common for a Mag drive. Have like 3 Mag 18s still kicking around even though they aren't doing what they were primarily used for initially but they are a work horse and just keep kicking. But they can easily be swapped in to take over for anything that they were used for.

I've had one not want to start back up before. Gave it a couple hour soak in some vinegar and it was running like new again.

Weird. It start to shut off my gfci first a week ago, yesterday stopped. I take it out, test it and works just fine, put it back again, connect it and 1 minute later stop again

Sounds like a short. Every product will have a dud.

Yes, totally agree.
Any other pump you can recommend? I can try to get it in warranty instead mag24, if not, I will get the same.
Abyzz A200 or A400 [emoji1] seriously...

For a beckett I'm not sure. I was very happy with the waveline dc12000.

Internal pump I'm assuming?

The cheapest pump with the highest rated head I know of just came out which is the jebao dcp 18000. Its doing great so far on my skimmer. I would dare say I'm impressed and just as happy with it as I was with the waveline. It is definitely a stronger pump regardless if ratings are correct and probably better for the beckett.

I'll find out soon too in the next few weeks when I get that extension and beckett assembly. [emoji4]

Jebao 18,000 I already have that as well. That pump is huge!
It's bigger then the waveline 12000. Especially with the intake cover which I left on. Will help protect against a small object getting sucked up and stuck in the venturi.

Yeah, I bought a Jebao 10,000 for a return pump. This is at least twice the size of that

How do you have your 18,000 plumbed into it? Any pics?

Well, I've customized most everything about mine. Even straight from Jeff I had him not put that handle on top of the lid and put in a center whole so I can mount my neck cleaner.

Then I plumbed together a 1" spaflex line to a 1" slip to 3/4" threaded fitting. Then used a 3/4" threaded to slip elbow and made the rest like what Jeff did. I also got several spears 3/4" threaded and slip unions to do so as the mazzei injectors are male threaded 3/4". Jeff uses spears plumbing and other brand unions will not thread witg those. Spears is a very good quality brand.

Unboxing is always the fun part

I found vinyl tubing even braided will warp easy.

Here's the new replummbed setup with 1" spaflex. No clamps required and no risk of the tubing warping or getting pinched.

For the Jebao 18000 I had extra spears union fittings and just had to plumb up to the first union making sure to use the correct side. And used a bushing for the included slip fitting that came with the pump. It says 1.5" but found they didn't get it quite right and the 1.25" to 1" slip bushing worked well and fit in the 1.5" included fitting.

Its ABS so used a transition cement (the teal color) to glue the pvc bushing into it. Primer on the PVC side only.

Also, you can see in that last picture I used a threaded 1/2" x 3/8" bushing and a 1/2" female threaded barb fitting to be able to attach 1/2" tubing to get slightly more air draw. Got the bushing/barb sizes from ca1ore.

Do you know what type of unions those are? (never mind, just read again)The barbed fitting is glued onto mine. Didn't realize it would be that way. Kinda like your setup better

What size thread is that on the outlet on the bottom?

So, for the second time I have pulled a large bristle worm out of the air injection port on my skimmer. Cannot quite workout how they are getting in there. Must be getting in through the auto rinse device that I had setup .....

Someone a month or so ago had an issue with a small snail getting sucked in and wedged into the injector. That would have sucked...

I got the extension and easy clean Beckett injector to play with. I need to find what union Neptune uses for their flow meter or plumb around it. Thinking and planning it out now.
