I have a rock full of green striped mushis and bout a month ago i noticed 1 was floating around in the tank. I removed it fearing it would atatch to a rock that I did not want it to. so far I have had 3 detatch including my fav big one.

Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening? I did add GFO around the time that this started happening.

If there detaching on there own, then I would think that there not to happy about where they are. Something is wrong. This could be too much current, not enough light etc.

They will attach where they want when they fall off. I had several fall off and attach on sides of rocks, that I had no idea about. I tried to glue them to a frag rock and the mushroom has detached twice already, I guess the best way is to rubber band them to a frag rock????

I have the same mushrooms on a rock, it seems to me when the rock gets crowded with mushrooms, a few will detach and then attach on other rocks in my aquarium, its like i have a mushroom generator. these things are growing everywhere now

Usually to much flow. I take mine and put in a Tupperware container with LR rubble covering the bottom then put netting over the top and with in a week or two they will attach to a piece of the rubble. Be sure to put it in a low flow area.

I had a large mushroom take a walk down the live rock to the sand bottom from too much light. This was after I cut over to a dimmable DIY LED.
