mushroom question

how can you tell when a mushroom is starting to die??I have the kinda brown ones with green highlights. Is is normal for them to look different today such as more scrunched up than spread out?

Mine looked "scrunched" up when the lights go out... they will also get like that when my clean shrimp decides to walk all over them. I'm not sure how to tell when they die

Mushrooms will retract in the dark and then expand each day. I recently increased the lighting over my corals and they have not been expanding as much. Hopefully they will get used to the increased lighting. Also, if you disrupt them such as when cleaning the tank they will shrink down to almost nothing and may take a week or so to return to normal. Very hardy corals and can take a lickin' and keep on tickin'.
