mushrooms in a blender

I read that you can put them in a blender with some water from the tank and then pour them in the tank and you will see alot of them. I have checked the past threads about that but I want to know if anybody really tried it and how did it go. I might go for it and do it tonight.

I don't really know if it would work or not but if it does I hope you really like mushrooms. I have to work at keeping mine from spreading to much the way it is.

Never heard of anything like this being successful.

I would be more inclined to believe someone taking a mushroom and slicing it with a knife before I would someone liquefying mushrooms .......

i've heard of people using a razor blade or scissors to cut them in halve/quarters. some lived, some died...i wouldn't bother. just give them time as is and you'll have more than you ever wanted anyway...

I took some mushrooms and made sure that the blinder is clean and washed it many times. I added water from the tank to it and put different color Mushrooms in it and made Mushroom joice. It turned red and had some foam in the top. I put some true red Mushrooms in it and that's why it was red. I took them to one of the propagation systems and turned it off and pured the whole ingrediant to that system. The white things disapeared and I saw small pieces of mushroom that were the size of the litter "o" in penny where it says "ONE PENNY" and some of them were smaller. They floated first but I moved the water a few times and they went down to the bottom where small pieces of rocks are. I will check it and will update you guys once a week.

My preferred technique is to put mushrooms in a blender, liquify them and then flush them down the toilet.

They still come back.

i have heard somewhere of doing something like this with sponges. i would like to have a tank with just shrooms and maybe a fish in it. 10-20 gal . how do you think you can do this and not have the pieces removed via protein skimming. please keep us posted , justin

The whole system is off and nothing is running except an air stone in one corner and as I have heard that you should have the lights off to. It said that you have to do that for a week untill they attach and then you can turn the whole system on. Last night I did the same process with another color Mushroom (blue) and the water changed color to blue and a while bluish foam in the top. I heard somewhere that the blinder will smell or it will smell bad but nothing and it smelled better than any joice I make (lol).. The mushrooms have a clear coat like plastic on them and I can see them still floating in the sump and they won't go down.

ouch

ouch

That doesn't sound fun to me -

The sponge this is true, and coraline algae can be sraped and blended, but can a mushroom regenerate from such a tiny fragment? interesting, but my conscience would prevent me from trying.

being human is more than just not beating our spouses.

Then why do you have an aquarium? Face it... being human causes harm.

I looked closer to the rocks and I can see some spots and is good to know that they are still the same color and not white. I will keep watching them and hope they don't get spots. I turned the heater off so it slows down the bacteria growth on the cut pieces.

Just a note.. those spots are not new,, they are the pieces of the mushrooms that landed on the rocks. Is too early to see any new spots.

I remember hearing about someone who did that because he wanted the whole bottom of the tank to have a carpet of mushrooms instead of sand or bare bottom. Don't know what happened though.
