Mushrooms to BA

This winter took my tank apart to remove all my mushrooms. Did this with great succes but now I am having problems with bubble algae. It hasn't become excessive but I can see it going there if I don't control it. I am removing what I can by hand without trying to burst the algae.

What is causing this problem because I never had a problem like this before? Nothing has changed? What can I do to control it?

Not an answer to your question, but how did you the mushrooms. I'm infested with them and want to get rid of most of them.

I use RO/DI water and alternate feeding between mysis, brine and phytoplankton.

Are there any critters that are reef safe that can help?

well emerald mithrax crabs are supposed to eat it, whether they're reef safe or not is a debated topic. i've read good and bad things about them.
