I would purchase it again.
but I heard there is another type of uniquarium coming out on the market, saw the advertisement at the lfs,and the MH looked better and I believe it was 150w (instead of the 70w with the aqua pod)

either way, I would only get the MH version and not the PC version

FYI, there is a Aquapod stand, which you can see on Drs. Foster Smith but it looks less stable and like it doesn't have as much room as the JBJ stand. I have an "S" stand for my 12 gal JBJ and a cabinet stand for the 24 gallon. I recommend, if you plan on using any external equipment such as a canister filter or external ballast you mount it in the stand prior to assembly and then put it together which is what i did and it hid my CF ballasts in the stand so looks nice and clean. Since then I upgraded to a 150W Sunpod which fits nicely on top of the tank 20" model with white and blue LEDs and 150W halide. Stocking up on SPS and LPS for this show tank in my living room.

any clue what the name of this new tank was?

they are by oceanic
the come in 8, 14, and 29
my lfs is supposed to stock them in july they are almost the same thing as the pods and nanocubes but the back part has it own opensing so you do not have to lift the entire hood to mess with you pumps and firlters.

and the hood does appear to have more clearance and would be a bit easier for nanoskimmer and such lightening i have no info on at this time.

I too also own a 24 aquapod. Came with the PC lights but I wanted to keep a BTA for the Marron and Perc so I bought the 150 watt Sunpod. I am also succesfully keeping a Fireside Acro....although I did have a Pink Birdsnest, but the BTA didn't want it in the tank for some reason and decided to sting the crap outta it. Oh well, start again....

Did any of you guys w/ the 70 watt Sunpod have any heat troubles? Also did the Aquapods come with the option to upgrade from the 70 Watt Sunpod to the 150 Watt Sunpod?
THANX!!
David D.

I never heard of any upgrade and I have no heat troubles at all w/ with the light.
I did have problems with heaters putting out too much heat as the thermostats are garbage.

Hey SaltyEsq...thanks for your response. I am thinking of purchasing the 24 Gal. Aquapod w/ 70w hqi and was wondering if you made any modifications or added any equiptment to yours.

THANKS!!
David D.

yes, I have done some easy changes

1. changed the stock pump to maxijet1200
2. on the same side as the return, I put an aqua C romera skimmer
3. on the otherside of the tank I added a 1.5 gallon hang of the back refuge. (still need to get a light for it- going to get a palm light from the doctors). the refuge has a small pump attached to it and then is drained into the other compartment. I am only keeping cheato in the sump and I have about 30 or so pounds of LR in the main display and all these pumps take up a lot of room.
but even with 3 pumps, heat still is never an issue (well except for the actual heaters themselves not functioning properly)

my entire back space is used up, but it all fits perfectly and is not an eyesore. even better is it difficult to see the skimmer and refuge bc the 70w hqi blocks it all

Hey Salty ESQ...I got lost on point #3....Somewhere between the
"1.5 gallon hang off the back Refuge"..and.."I am only keeping Cheato in the Sump"
Can you explain point #3 to a Newbie so I can better understand.
THANKS for being so helpful and understanding.
David D.

opps I did not mean to to the word sump, I meant refuge.

.."I am only keeping Cheato in the Sump" (I meant refuge)
