My first acan, pics

A local reefer was taking down their tank and I snagged my first acan frag for $60. He said it was Orange Crush but I'm not real sure. The color looks slightly faded to me as he said he had them near the top which they didn't seem to like. I'll keep them shaded for a little while and see how they do. Hopefully they will color up nicely!

Looks like my orange crush but like you said is pretty stressed. I also notice the parts are more plump that dont get direct light. Great coral and very hardy IMO , you got a fair price too.

They guy had the Acan towards the top of his tank for a while which is probably why the color is faded. He also didn't feed it much. I'm going to keep it shaded for a while and see how it does, hopefully it will accept some food soon. It took a few weeks to acclimate my Cynarina and now he seems to love the MH. Thanks for the comments.

ya thats a orange crush... I got a frag from a buddy of mine that was solid brown and it colored up over about 4 months to a super bright orange and green... that should color up for you quick, i had mine about mid level in the tank with 2x250w mh

I just noticed the feeding tenticles are starting to come out at night so I'll start spot feeding them. They seem to be getting used to the lighting quickly, that's a good sign.

I was sold this also as an orange crush. Is it the same? It never looked exactly like the first picture on this thread. I've had it for ~6 months now. Thanks!

Here's mine. Put it near the bottom of the tank, and give it some mysis once or twice a week and it should color up very quickly.

Are Orange Crush Acan Echin.?
I just told my LFS to put one on hold for me .... Bright Orange with Brown Centre...and I think the mouth is Green (a small green dot)
My question is...Do they like light + flow or not.... I seem to have no luck with the Acan Sub Echin. I think this will be my last attempt keeping these guys... I am running 175W MH in my tank.....
