my first gorgonian - Dip??

not sure…the only things i dip are my zoos and that is just in fresh water…never used revive, andy have never dipped my gorgs …very poor practice i know, buti have had pretty good luck thus far.

I have had 5 or so gorgs in my time. Two of my current gorgs I have had for 8 years now. I dipped one once in a weak solution of iodine, it started emitting something turning the dip solution greenish, i put it in my tank right after seeing that and a few days later it was dead. My other gorgs have been fine, i did loose my yellow finger gorge after a while but it was not in the best shape when I got it.

Personally i will not dip any more gorgs. just look them over very closely for pests.

No need to dip. If you want to be cautious - prepare a strong concentration of revive and just dip the base rock.

From my recollection gorgonian specific parasites/predators are usually large and visible. Your biggest worry is algae growing over exposed tissue.

I have about a dozen or so gorgs and have dipped all of them in Revive with no ill effects. Most photosynthetic gorgs are pretty hardy.
