My Huge Clam !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got his guy at the LFS. He was sold to me as a T.Drerasa for $70.

He is huge about the size of a football and freaking heavy.

Do you guys think this is a derasa????

Sorry, I don't know anything about clam but my lfs have one that look like that but a little bigger for $200. Love the way it look. Hopefully one day I will have 1 like that.

looks like a derasa to me, and like ron said better keep an eye on calcuim, IME the large clams use up quite a bit building on the shell thickness.

Here is my almost 5 years old it was 4" long now may be 14" the maxima next to it is 4" long.

Zoom i have a derasa that is about the exact same color, hopefuly it will be that big in a few years. its only 4" now but has a good 1/4" growth ring.

I had a huge derasa like that that was 13" long. Had it for 8 years in my reef. Finally gave it to a friend.

I offered it to a reef store, but they wouldn't even give me $20 for it!

This clam was so large that it could shoot water outside of the tank despite being on the bottom of a 20" high tank. I had to turn it around so the water would shoot toward the front of the tank, where it couldn't get out of the top.
