Ace Hardware has Quik-rete "White" sand. Pretty sure it is calcium based.
Any sand is okay, aragonite or silica, as long as the color is OK with you (some of the silica sands can be a tad bit yellower than the LFS-bagged aragonite)
NJ you are in the right part of the country if it's still around check your local HD's, Lowe's and Garden centers. I believe it is "proccessed/packaged in near the NJ/PA area
I'm pretty sure the Quick-rete stuff they sell at the HD in Ft Lauderdale is silica sand. That said, there is a very good possibility that I'm going to use it, seeded with a bit of live sand.
