My little hitchhiker's journey to recovery

I've posted about this little guy before, but tonight something happened that made me realize how far he's come and I wanted to post some pics.
I bought a pice of Fiji LR specifically because it had a few hitchhiking corals, one of which looked way too far gone to save but I wanted to try. Here's how much progress he's made:

November 7th 2005. For about a week prior to this shot the rock was in a bucket (with light) and I did daily water changes after smothering him with food in the hopes that he'd take something. This is soon after adding the rock to the tank. At this point he was eating well and getting fed almost daily:

November 25th, he started to regain his colour and I knew he was going to make it:

February 2nd, looking much better. I reduced spot feedings to twice weekly; he was putting out feeder tentacles at night so I figured he was probably getting some of the zooplankton & phyto I add several times a week:

Today - the first time I've seen him produce sweepers. You can see how far his reach was earlier, he's stung most of the zoas surrounding him.

I feel bad for the little zoas (they also hitchhiked in), but not too bad; mostly I feel a little like a proud parent. If he has full colour, puffs up during the day, puts out feeder tentacles and produces sweepers, he must be fully recovered. Now, if I could just ID him... :D

Thanks :D
I have a HUGE soft spot for this little guy - he may not be gorgeous, but he's amazingly tough.

man, I had somthing just like that on a fiji LR, it started to fill in a few of the holes, and my hammer fell on it. coraline in growing over it now.

thats sad, I had no idea that it might have been an acan/micro or such.

That's too bad, sorry to hear it. This is Fiji rock too, easily the nicest most 'alive' piece of LR I've ever bought.

I finally got a half decent closeup of the little guy, maybe this will help. I'm certainly no expert at all, but the rings make it look like an Acan to me.

Yay! I've been looking for a positive ID, I thought it was an echinata but wasn't sure. Thanks for the confirmation :)
