I look over at my tank and there it goes. It's been doing it for the last half hour. I have witnessed at least 20 Squirts. The light's are off now, but I see with a flashlight that it is still doing it. Here's some pics in sequence

I have video too, but there's no way I'm getting that to 50k :) My Blue Tang is FREAKING out. It is jetting from one end of the tank to the other, right in front of the camera  . I just moved my whole tank yesterday and I guess it kinda freaked everything out. I just wish there would be babies, and that the babies would get past the larval stage. You gotta wonder though, does it feel good ;)

Sweet!!! How long have you had the clam? Do you have other clams in the tank? If so, did they spawn also?

This maxima is about 3.5-4" I have had it for 1.5 years or so. I have other maximas, but they didn't spawn. I'm not sure why this one chose to spawn. Thanx for the compliment on the pics!! Here is another of all my clams except for one huge deresa.

Good job.

Good job.

Those are good shots. I'd love to see it in person.
I see you have GSPs on the clam shell. Don't the polyps sting the clam?

Nice bunch of clams. I really like the neon green one and aqua blue one What kind clams are those? I must know.

How do you maintain your CA and ALK levels with all those clams? Good old additives or a CA Reactor?

BTW, is the spawning maxima the smallest clam in that pic or the 2nd largest clam? If the smallest, dang those are some big boys. I hope to have as many clams as you some day.

Actually those aren't GSP on the shell, it is a pipe organ (Tubipora Musica) coral. It wasn't on the clam when I bought it, at least I didn't see it. I had it sitting in the rockwork for a few months and the side with the coral wasn't viewable. I went to move it one day and there it was. It was just a few polyps then. I had another small tubipora colony in the tank, but not near the clam and no where near as intense of a green. It isn't stinging the mantle. Majano's though, that's a whole-nother story............:mad2: :mad2:

all 6 of the ones in the center are Maximas, including the two you mentioned.

I use Kalkwasser. I am considering getting a reactor though. Kalkwasser does fine with the calcium levels, but it's a bit on the low side with the alkalinity, and that's dosing 3 gallons a day on a 150 gallon system.

It is the one on the far left of the pic

The green one is especcially fantastic!

I have to agree!!!! That is one of my favorites. The difference from front to top is amazing!!! Here's a shot from the front

I got it from Bryan at http://www.thelogicalreef.com/index.html . He get's his stuff from ORA http://www.orafarm.com/ , and it's GREAT stuff!!!!!! It looks like he has another one almost exactly the same for sale right now. His camera doesn't capture how vibrant the colors truely are. I have attached the pic he sent me of my green max clam.

Thanx for all the compliment everyone!!

Thank you for sharing your pictures and your experience. The Green Maxima is indeed gorgeous. I guess I need another clam now. :D
