I see you have GSPs on the clam shell. Don't the polyps sting the clam?
Actually those aren't GSP on the shell, it is a pipe organ (
Tubipora Musica) coral. It wasn't on the clam when I bought it, at least I didn't see it. I had it sitting in the rockwork for a few months and the side with the coral wasn't viewable. I went to move it one day and there it was. It was just a few polyps then. I had another small tubipora colony in the tank, but not near the clam and no where near as intense of a green. It isn't stinging the mantle. Majano's though, that's a whole-nother story............:mad2: :mad2:
I really like the neon green one and aqua blue one What kind clams are those? I must know.
all 6 of the ones in the center are Maximas, including the two you mentioned.
How do you maintain your CA and ALK levels with all those clams? Good old additives or a CA Reactor?
I use Kalkwasser. I am considering getting a reactor though. Kalkwasser does fine with the calcium levels, but it's a bit on the low side with the alkalinity, and that's dosing 3 gallons a day on a 150 gallon system.
BTW, is the spawning maxima the smallest clam in that pic or the 2nd largest clam?
It is the one on the far left of the pic
The green one is especcially fantastic!
I have to agree!!!! That is one of my favorites. The difference from front to top is amazing!!! Here's a shot from the front
I got it from Bryan at
http://www.thelogicalreef.com/index.html . He get's his stuff from ORA
http://www.orafarm.com/ , and it's GREAT stuff!!!!!! It looks like he has another one almost exactly the same for sale right now. His camera doesn't capture how vibrant the colors truely are. I have attached the pic he sent me of my green max clam.
Thanx for all the compliment everyone!!
