My New Clam

Just wanted to share some pics of my new maxima clam, I have him about 5 inches below two 36 watt pc's. They are 10k and actinic. He is currently about two inches.

Very nice! Are you sure that'll be enough light for him? I would think that it would slowly lose it's color over time and eventually die without more light.....I could be wrong tho- Very nice clam!

Well I work at the LFS and know of a few people keeping maxima's in the same lighting as mine and seem to do fine, I have heard that the little one actually just filter feed and dont use the light till they are bigger. I dont know how true that is, and maybe someone can correct me if im wrong. But if it does start to fade, ill just bring him to work, and put him under our MH's.

I think your are RIGHT! Feed him. That close to PCs at this size should be just fine. As he does get bigger MHs would be ideal for him. AWESOME looking maxima!!!! Has he attached to anything yet?
