Just thought I would share a pic of my new addition. A 2"-3" Ultra Crocea. I'll try and get a better pic of his color after he's had more time to adjust.
Croceas are awesome...they seem hard to come by lately too...has anyone else noticed this? I remember a couple years ago they were available often, now just once in a while.
Yeah I've noticed that croceas have been a little more scarce. I have noticed though that maximas have sort of taken up the slack and have become more readily available then they used to be.
I bought the clam at Captive Bred Corals. Their website is www.captivebredcorals.com. They are only 1 1/2 hour drive so I drove up there and picked him out. Lighting is 3-400W halides, (2) 65k Iwasakis and (1) 10k German. They are supplemented with (4) 36" NO bulbs (2) Actinic and (2) 20K coralife bulbs. The tank is a 180. I'll see if I can get a better pic to bring out more of his color.
Thanks for the reply and the link. You have a lot of lighting. I have a 75 gallon, 20" deep tank with 2-3" of sand. I only have 2 150W DE bulbs. i'm really not sure it is enough for a crocea, particularly on the sand. But, after reading Sanjai's article I'm on the fence.
