I just came home from my LFS with a 6 gallon eclipse. Its made for freshwater and has a bio-weel. Is this sufficent filtration for a mantis? Any of you got one of these?
I currently keep a 2.5" G. platysoma in one of these systems. Works quite well. Just swap the bulb out for a Hagen PowerGlo or AquaGlo (18000K each, PowerGlo is slightly more intense) for nicer color.
Here is a ciliata spearer. This particular one was quite the specimen at almost 4" and about 3/8" thick. I tried posting this picture but got a message from the board saying to look it up under another post I had put up.
The scientific name is, Gonodactylaceus mutatus. The ciliata is a , Psuedosquilla ciliata. I don't have any pictures of them in water. The philippine is hard to get a photo of, but the ciliata usually has me watching him hunt so intently I forget all about pictures. Since I don't own a digital camera I can't say when I'll have any under pics but I start seeing what I can do.
