since that disease thing last summer, or atleasst thats my theory, wiped out all my clams...
i got a derasa a few months ago that is doing well, so ithought it was time to start stocking nice clams again...
so for my birthday, i got this nice blue max.

actually no, i do not plan on feeding it.
i do realize that smaller clams require feedings, but from my experience, clams of this size do not rely on feeding as much as they do light. BTW, this clam is actually closer to 3".

i have had success with clams of this size and larger in the past, but they got wiped out last year by that infamous clam disease.
(atleast that is what i believe), whereas i did not have success with the little clams you find available that are < 2". which i agree with you and believe they rely more on feeding, which is exactly why i dont want to buy those little buggers!
