My Planted tank

Very nice tank. I like the small snail you have. I have never seen anything like it over here in North America. Do you know what it eats?

Fred.

What a nice little tank! I wonder how you are keeping the tiny pipefish going in such a small tank.. are you supplementing copepods into the tank now and then? I'm just curious. :)

I like the ivy-like overgrowth of all the Caulerpas.. I wonder if you could get a few of them growing in the sand to make a kind of carpet like effect.

All in all, a great little tank!

I think the snail should be a nasserous snail, detrivoire if I remember correctly. Otherwise it could be one of the mean ones(think african mud snail) that look like a nasserous snail that gang up and kill other snails according to one of the threads in the colorado forum.

I'm sure you could get it. I know the LFS around me carry them. or you can always order them but I guess shipping kills everything.

I wish I could find some Pom Pom or Boxing crabs around me.

i think the pipes are feeding on the crab larve. he said they breed
once a month. with all that alge the pods have plenty of hiding places

It would have to be more than the crab larvae. The larvae are very small and we can't provide sufficient food for them to survive long in an aquarium.

I don't think it'll grow well on sand, since they need some rock for its root to grow on. If you would like to make it grow on sand, I think it's better to find some flat rock and put it on the sand to grow them.

The pods have enough hiding place, since they have alots of crevices. The pipefish is very small with a very very little mouth. It's can't even feed on the Harlequin larvae and the bigger coppepod. What it can eat is the little copepod and the crab and sexy shrimp larvae. He stays with me for about half a year (around that)
