My Reef at 1 Year of age.

Can I borrow your towel
I just posted a bunch of pictures onto my built thread over in the Large Reef Tanks Forum to celebrate my tank turning one year old.

Thought I would share a few of there here as well since it's primarily an SPS tank.

Hope you enjoy.

Edited the first post to add a pic of the tank when I first put my existing livestock in....

Nice man. I always liked your tank.
Must be hard to get good pics with a round tank. Lots of distortion.

Thanks Neal!
Yeah, between my lack of photography skills, the curve of the tank, and the 50K bulbs in the spotlights (in that order) taking good pictures is very challenging. I've gotten a little better over the last year, learned to shoot in raw and manipulate ISO and F stop then use PS to adjust the white balance so I come pretty close to getting a decent shot now and again, but...
Macro's are just out of the question and I really can't get some of the amazing corals to photograph at all due to their placement.

Just another reason to look at in person though :)

Did you buy a couple more 150's? Its really looking great! it's ashame it is hard to photograph it since its curved. Hopefully I will win the lotto one day and bribe you with money so i can see it in person.

Since you have run yours longer than I had ever gotten to run mine, What kind of bulb life are you getting?

Awesome job.
 thanks!

Thats a really cool tank. I love the setup.
Appreciate it.

Nice Ric Rock!
Thanks! It's funny, as much of an SPS guy as I am, I always end up with a mixed reef, I love the rics and the micro's and acans, heck even torches...

wow awesome tank those spot lights must have been fun to get imported i want a couple over my new tank:)
Thanks Wolf Reef. You have no idea what a hassle (and a major leap of faith) it is to get these imported. I don't wish that on anyone. I think it was worth it though :)

I won't go into details but... WOW!
Glad you dig it ;)

I did, I brought in one more MT-150 and two more of the SuperKaru's. Right now I'm running five SuperKaru's and three MT-150's and I fire up three of the Won Brothers for two hours in the middle of my photo period for a little "high noon" action.
You certainly wouldn't have to bribe me, if you're ever in the Phoenix Metro of course you would be welcome, I'll even buy the beer.

I'm getting about 6 months out of the supercool bulbs running all deep blues now, and I just replaced the coralgrow's at one year. I might swap out the coral grows with something more common since in the end they are just DE 150's, no reason to keep importing those. I do need to get another shipment of 10 supercools though to get me to this point next year :)

Wow that is an awesome set up how many gal is it?
and
I dont see any fish? is there fish?

The display tank is about 190 gallons, the total system volume in about 400.
There are some fish. These pictures were taken on a tripod with a really long exposure time, so fish would just show up as blurs.

There is a powder brown and a lavender tang, a copperband butterfly, pair of Picasso Clowns (ORA grade B, I'm told), Leopard Wrasse, Coris Wrasse, swales basslet, and two chalk basslets. I think that's it. seems like a lot when I list them out, but I really want to add a few more fish sometime soon.

Very unique and good looking tank. The lights look like stage lighting!

thanks stanley!
