My tank just turned 10 years old in January

I haven’t been on here in awhile. Took this pic a few days ago as I contemplate breaking it down this summer :-(
It has been the most rewarding thing I’ve ever gotten grey hairs over. I have learned so so much, and screwed up countless times. It has been a humbling and awe-inspiring journey.

Why are you thinking about breaking it down?
I am going to be traveling most of the time for a few years and likely doing a long distance move at the end. I had thought I had ten more years to go with it but life happens. My heart is breaking but all good things must end.

Things I learned along the way:
Metal Halide works better than LED
Salinity refractometers say temp correction but wait four minutes and see
Never recalibrate anything based on one measurement
Stuff breaks and you need to have a plan for everything
A generator is mandatory
Fish can jump through impossibly small cover holes
Tangs are the most interactive fish I have ever kept in 30 years fresh/salt

Couldn't agree more with all of it. Congrats on such a great tank; glad you've documented it here.
