My Coral Beauty is now picking at my Frogspawn and Galaxia after 4 months. I need to take these corals out as I am going away for a week and don't have time to get the coral beauty out. I have a 20g Long tank (30x12x12) with a Normal Output flourescent bulb. Will this be enough light to support these corals for a while??

It should be for a limited amount of time anyway. It would be a good idea if you are able to out some rock or PVC in there, on which you can set the coral so that it's closer to the light than it would be sitting on the substrate.

I'm not 100% sure one this, but if it a short term, temporary home it might be fine. Might I suggest taking the tank and placing it to where sunlight can shine on it for extra light.

Just a little FIY, many corals including frogspawn have been grown and housed under NO for years. You might want to get in contanct with some "old school" reefers such as Paul B. He still runs an undergravel filter and (I think) NO lights and has a tremendous tank.

I would say NO, a single normal output bulb will not be enough light to make any diffrence for corals like these, people have kept them under mulitiple Normal Output lights, but not only one. You can help them live longer by feeding them, but I would get better light on the 20long before moving the corals in.

I would plan on getting a better light at some point, but it would probably not be for at least 10 days.

Go to walmart/lowes/home depot and pick up the $7 double fl light fixture, and a timer and you could keep indefinitely in that shallow tank.

I just ordered a Current Satellite 2x65pc fixture for this tank. I am hoping this will let me keep just about anything in there I want.
