For all who have not already heard, Down Under is having the grand openning of their new location next Saturday, April 5th.
Festivities begin at 2pm to include, free food and drink, the famous Down Under frag swap, fish and coral sales, and Chris Jury will be the guest speaker. He will be giving a presentation on carbonate chemistry.
Chris's bio:
Chris Jury grew up in the Great Lakes state of Michigan, which is a part of the US about as far from a tropical coral reef as one can reside. Nonetheless he developed a strong interest in coral reefs and marine organisms. After high school trips to south Florida and Hawaii he decided to set up his first marine aquarium. Over the course of several years he maintained a number of small reef tanks and became progressively interested in corals and reef organisms. As an undergraduate he worked at a large retail store as one of the “saltwater gurus†and gained a great deal of practical experience with a variety of marine organisms.
He obtained dual bachelors degrees in zoology and Spanish at Michigan State University and is currently working towards an MS in marine biology at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. His master’s thesis examines the effects of ocean acidification on coral calcification. Additionally, he has worked on coral reproduction with several species of Caribbean coral, including the endangered Elkhorn coral (Acropora palmata). Chris is a SCUBA diver and his work has taken him to locations such as Puerto Rico, Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles, and the US and British Virgin Islands.
He has written several articles for Reefkeeping magazine and has spoken at a number of marine aquarium clubs around the country. He is also an active member of several online forums, where he spends more time than he probably should.

I hope to see everyone there.
