need acrylic buffing advice

I tried to get some scratches out of my 400 gal acrylic on the outside front,I used 1000 grit then 1500,to 2000
I used my dwalt buffer on 2500 rpms. now when the lights are off and I look side ways I can still see some sanding marks. what grit should I use and what speed on the buffer?

Novus buffing compound. It's a three part polish for acrylics. Sand with the 2000 as much as you can stand then go for the Novus.
