I started running my light 24/7 about 2 months ago. I always had problems with cheato growing in my fuge. Since the 24/7, The cheato has taken right off. I live at the far eastern outpost of the Upstate Reef Society, the Rome Outpost. But I have some if anyone needs some.
yeah about the same w/ me but mine really took off when i gave it its own tank-I pushed all the extra LR to one end then I flip my swtch on my 2 ph to alternate the flow and keep detritus up in the column
Mine has it's own tank too. I have 2 29gal tanks, left side holds the cheato in the center chamber with some sand and rocks. My chiller runs from that tank, the right has the skimmer and UV, with sand and rocks in that center chamber.
fuge light on 24/7 here as well...that may change with the warmer weather (if it ever gets here). Kent...sorry i missed you the other day. Schedule is slowly returning to normal.
Anyone from URS who is needs it I have 2 sandwich sized bags worth that I can get anytime. Just for future reference, I have a 2.5g HOB fuge and the Cheato is always ready for the plucking!
interesting that everyone runs there fuge 24/7... i heard that it should run on an opposite schedule then your DT. i heard that it helps keep the pH in balance due to the changing CO2/O2 levels.
Kent.....We could all donate to you and you still wouldn't have enough.....you need a hay bale size.....you need to run it 24/7 just to get it big enough for your needs....I hope you don't create......Swamp Thing.....
