so I have a 55 gallon with only 2 regular fluorescent lights on it since the frog fish inside likes it more dim. There is a thin layer of LS on the bottom about 2inches(if i need more my 125 pred tank has a 6-7inch DSB) I am tying to make the tank more interesting but I want him to be the only guy in the tank just cause it will be better off for him in the long run even though hes tiny, so what kind of macro and plants should I put in the tank there is also moderate flow and it gets a decent amount of sunshine during the day :)

i think that a Halimeda might work out nicely. Caulerpa sp. also get several inches tall and could make a nice aquascape in your largish tank, but they can be finicky and/or very aggressive. for Halimeda, however, you'll have to provide Calcium.

with a deep enough sand bed you could also consider seagrasses. i have not gotten into those yet, but they are tricky. they require, for one thing, very intense light.

there has been a lot of selection and culture information going back and forth on this forum, so it could be helpful to just look through some of the old threads.
