Hi, I am setting up my new aga 75 reef ready tank. Does anybody know how to fit this new twin nozzle return pipe into the overflow box? I cant seem to get the nozzles to fit where they are supposed to go. Thanks for the help.

thanks,
Mike

Mike...

Just set up a 90AGA.

Is your problem the height of the return pipe on which the twin nozzle is attached? You actually have to cut the 3/4" PVC pipe to the height stated on the megaflow instruction sheet. Once you get the correct height, attach it to the bulkhead. The instructions say don't glue, but I posed this question to the message board and I got a hands down vote for gluing. Some people who didn't glue actually had problems with the return pipe coming off when they turned their pumps on.

Once the return pipe is set and the glue dried, screw the nozzle thing onto the elbow (use teflon tape or PVC cement) then attach the the elbow to the return pipe. I glued the elbow to the return pipe but screwed in the nozzle and used a lot of teflon.

All this aside, if your question is "how does the nozzle fit over the overflow?", it doesn't, you have to punch out of the two pre-cut holes. Once you do this you then lay the nozzle into the hole/slot (w/elbow attached -- you may find it easier to do it a different way, but this worked best for me) and attach it to the return pipe.

It's all about the height of the return. I actually cut mine too short, something I didn't realize until I pushed it all the way into the bulkhead. To avoid trips to HD, cut it high, test, and trim more if needed.

I cut the pipe to 18 3/4 like the sheet said. I cant seem to fit the nozzles inside the overflow box. The nozzles don't want to bend enough to fit them they way they should go. I am gonna try your method of laying them in first then attaching the pipe. Thanks for your help

Are you trying to have one go out each of the pre-cut slots? I tried to do that at first as the instructions were very vague. quickly found out it just can't work that way. So I have it going out of the pre-cut slot closest to the return pipe. The part before the nozzles tee off goes through the slot. They tee outside of the overflow.
