need help with torch

We have had a torch in our system for about two months now. When we purchased him at the LFS he was fully extended & looked great.

Ever since we've had him, he will extend his tentacles, but he doesn't really "inflate." But even for the past couple of days he hasn't even really been showing any signs of extension.

We have tried different levels of flow, different placements, & different places under the lights. He is in a 75gal w/ MHs. In all the different places we tried, he has not been any closer than 8" to another coral.

We are testing the water again tomorrow, but as of last week ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate tested out at 0, calc at 350, ph at 8.1, alk at 8, salinity at 1.024, and temps range between 77-79. Tank inhabitants include GS maroon clown, scopas tang & bluethroat trigger. No one has ever bothered the torch to my knowledge.

TIA!

How long have you left it in one spot? I never had any luck with hammer corals cause I was constantly moving them around the tank hoping they would open up. Finally left one alone and it took off. Moderate lighting and slow to moderate flow.

We left him in the first spot for about month & 1/2, and we were adj the flow about once everything week 1/2. We just moved him up a little bit higher in the tank about three days ago w/ moderate flow. Maybe we'll try slowing the flow down.
