I purchased this Nudi from my LFS and he told me it eats algae. I don't see it eating. I made the mistake of purchasing him/her without reading about them, something I usually never do (his/her color hypnotized me into buying it). It is a bright purple with a white outline.
If anyone can offer me info. on him/her I would appreciate it.
What their diet consists of, any special care, and his scientific name.
I am posting picture of him/her.

If you don't get an answer here try posting in Dr. Ron's forum, he's great with these.

If it's a nudibranch it's not going to eat algae, they are all carnivores. It could be a seaslug though. It's beautiful whatever it is!

Thanks Flame Angel,
I posted to Dr. Ron an got some tank saving advise. Turns out that this guy eats sponge and releases toxins. Beautiful but deadly.

That is a very popular nudi in the trade. Unfortunetly they won't live past a few months (and that is if you are lucky).

They eat only a particular type of sponge which is most likely you won't even have in your tank. They are awesome looking, but pointless to keep in the home aquaria.
