I rescued these and the seller didn't know anything about them.

What species are these? Thanks

The back ones new and is still adjusting to the light. The front one I've had for a week. So far I've got two Max and one Crocea.

Are there any pictures that I can take to know for sure?

Dan

I'd say Crocea as the overall shape of the shell resembles a Crocea shell.

Nice clams btw.

No. Some place called 99 Fish and Pet in San Bruno.

They were $19 each and in a tank with no lights. The clams are looking better and brighter everyday. They had a few left that need to be rescued.

Part of me wants to buy them all and hold them for responsible reef keeps.

WOW $19! That was a steal! Those clams are beautiful! Please post some bird eye view shots of the clam. I am sure thier colours are much better when looked that way.

They are both croceas. My only advice is to not move them. Let them stay where they are, recover a little and soon their mantles will be expanded fully, showing off their full beauty.

These two are Croceas
They are still abit closed and have abit of bleaching , but this is probably due to the bad conditions they had before, you mentioned tank with no lights.
It should be OK, if they'll get good conditions now.
Good luck with them.

The bleaching is almost gone and the mantels are coming out even farther. I've been leaving the lights on for 12 hours a day and feeding DT Plankton every other day.
