Nem's foot disintegrating? (Pics fixed)

On 10/7, I added a large, healthy, extremely sticky LTA to our tank.

Today, he appears to be dying, although, it's not starting from the mouth (as I've always seen/known of previously).

His foot appears to be disentegrating. The outer layer of orange skin seems to have peeled off and his insides are, well, falling out.

His tentacles are still very sticky, though. It's just bizarre. Mouth is closed nice & tight, stomach has never protruded.

The shrinking/deflating started 10/13, I decided him expelling waste, but then when not reinflated by today & being unable to see him, I moved the rock he was hiding behind to find him this way.

At this point, crabs have not decided he is a meal, which makes me hopeful.

Tank inhabitants:
peppermint shrimp, snails, 2 hermits
1 small bangaii cardinal, 1 yellow hogfish, 1 med maroon goldbar clown

The clown did decide to host on 10/11 and was happy with the nem until it deflated on the 13th.

Looks bleached also... It does not look good... Id watch closely and get ready to pull it before it fouls the tank. Sorry. :(

whats your tanks water parameters? and how long has your tank been set up? might also could be a damaged foot but other then that idk. i would first check your water. after that if its in the good think about when you bought the nem. did the guy remove it from a rock or something. could have possibly tore the foot since they are very sensitive down there.

agreed. that anemone is as good as dead. it's strange--although they're disintegrating, i've seen incidents where they're still able to eat.

I had the exact same thing happen, though on my end it was a total newbie mistake, i didn't do my research and got some bad advice at my LFS regarding adding it. I will probably wait at least 6-12 months before trying another nem and if i do it will be a bubbletip instead of a long tentacle.

Mine turned inside out shortaly after looking like that.
