i,m sorry to be asking this type of question but here go's. after i signed up i got rushed to the hosp and ended up with a pacemaker. before i attempt a 10 hr day heres the question. i have 3 sucessfull reef tanks. am i really going to learn better reefkeeping or are these forum more of a general nature? is a lot of the show vendors selling their wears? trying to deceided if i really want to make the trip now. thanks bob

It's definately worth the trip - you will not only learn more practical reefkeeping strategies, but also get to meet other reefers and also hobby celebrities of sorts. Last year was well worth it, in my opinion, and this year is looking to be even better. And, yes, conferences are a very good place to find vendors and their goods.

Another option would be to check the schedule for speakers and then decide which day and which speakers to make...

Due to scheduling changes on my end, I am only going on Saturday now...

mike, thanks, all tho my point was not to drive out if a lot of the show was vendors. that would not be worth it imo!

Look at the schedule and decide which speakers you want to see and decide accordingly. You dont have to be there all day if you dont want to be. The vendors have nothing to do with the speakers. Well worth it IMO

Sorry to hear about your condition! that sounds painful..
Anyway all you have to do at the conference is sit down/relax and listen to people, sort of like watching tv. Plus it is supposed to be really nice weather. Plus, watching all the fish is sure to have a soothing effect on your heart/etc. Lol!

The vendor booths are open for the entire conference, and people basically visit them in between the speakers or while they have nothing to do - they in no way conflict with the better parts of the experience.

thanks for all the input, i may have to leave a little early sat but i'll be there and as i have said before, if anyone wants unmounted xenia for free just ask.

Hi Bob (I assume) - I'll take some xenia if you have some to spare - I should be there sometime tomorrow- but if you dont see me, drop it off at the registration booth with my sister whos working there - Christine (spraklecat)...

we/ll get together after the show. if i bring it with me i don't think it will make it all day in bags

sorry i could not bring any to nerac but i,m glad i went. i live in copiague and the offer still stands, but after listening to calfo i might turn my lower level into a frag farm!

Glad you made it, Bob. I didn't get to meet you, but I'm glad you were able to make the conference. I missed Calfo's presentation, but I've seen it before. Did you catch Julian or Todd Gardner? Both gave excellent presentations.

saw julian, missed gardner. left early sat to meet my son and do some flying. pyro383. i'm usually home about 5:30
