Hi, bought a Acropora colony on Saturday, don't know the proper name but it is fluro green.
Dipped it coral cleaner, which was a good thing as it house a hitchiker crab.
Placed it on the sand bed with a view to slowly moving it up to the surface over a week.
Today i placed it about 6 inches higher up, which takes it to 13 inches below my ati sunpower 6 x 39w unit.
Just before lights out tonight, i notice a couple of white stringy things coming out of 2 of the tips.
Now i had just been cleaning the sump, so a lot of detritus etc got blasted back into the tank.
Was wondering if it is reacting to the cloudy tank or it is getting too much light too soon, i really don't want to lose this colony, should i place it back on the sand for a while longer?
Some of the tips are not as bright as the rest of the branches, but nothing that looks like bleaching, looks like new growth, should they have a lighter area at the tips when it is growing
I am running a new zeovit tank, my params are
Phosphate 0.08
Nitrate 5.0
Mag 1320
Cal 420
Alk 7.2
Sg 35pt
PH7.80-8.10
Thanks
Mike
