New Clam Tank

Just received my new clam tank from www.clamsdirect.com Was package very well and the tank appears to be VERY well built. Love the overflow box.

With all the clams that I have, I needed another tank so I could get more. It will be a while before I set it up because I am going to build my own stand and save up for some nice lighting.

Very nice,

I would love to have one of thoses myself, and devote it strictly to clams. Make sure to keep us updated when you get it up and running.

Oh, Sweeet tank!
Thanks, LunchBucket. Too bad I'm a cheap ba$tard - I'll just have to scavenge some acrylic & DIY one :p
But, I'm only at 9 clams so far so I've got a while before I'm ready for one of those.

wonder where else you could get it done? any acrylic fabricators you konw of?

wonder what zephrant could do ;)

nice tank..but i think it's over priced

I did my home work before buying one of these tank. Saw it first in the Knop book a few years ago.

Call several manufacturing companies, one being Tenicor and they told me that is would cost well over $400.00 and trying to seam the angel is difficult. Call a few fabrication shops in my area and their cost started at 475.00 as they would have to purchase a special heating rod that bends the acrylic.

Was told by Barry at Clams Direct that he was able to sell them at that cost because he had to sign an aggreement to purchase so many or it wouldn't be worth the time for his manufacturing company to build them. Bulk rate I guess he was referring too.

ok ROn..
i just felt that way ........
well if you love it that will do it..sorry about giving out my opinion..

moga, No need to apologize, well have our own opinions :)

It is the custom work that is expensive, if we were to compare a regular tank in that size, yes the clam tank would be expensive. A lot of work goes into bending that material and trying to seam it correctly so it will not leak.

i too priced a few dealers...they seem to be in the right price range due to the bending and i LOVE the fact that you can see the clams at different angles!!
