New DOC skimmers and Ozone

Roger,
In previous posts you mentioned that the classic skimmers were rated for 3mg/hr for ozone delivery. I was wondering if that had changed with the new DOC 9' series.

If not, I have searched for ozone reactors on a number of sites and found one rated for 100mg/hr. What brand would you recomend? ( I am planing on getting a red sea aqua zone deluxe - 200mg/hr and orp probe)

The best Ozonizers are Sanders and Ozotech. Particularly the older Sanders. I say that because they can essentially become family heirlooms. The Red Sea and new sanders have so many electronics if they get wet it is game over. The Red Sea unit isn't bad though, it doesn't quite produce the same as a comparably sized Ozotech or Sanders though. The DOC skimmers can take more Ozone but the modern use of Ozone is generally limited to 1mg/hr per 25-100l strictly as a clarifying agent. This eliminates the need for redox control and if you run really high levels you will not skim out much of anything because the ozone destroys the organics you were trying to remove and the breakdown products aren't great for the water quality.
