New Gigas

I just got a 3" Gigas clam. I took a 3 hr drive home with it and after two hours acclimation I settled it into my tank. I already have crocea, derasa, and sqamosa in my tank. The gigas has been gaping its syphon for the 1st day and a half and the mantle is not extended over the edge of the shell. Is it normal for gigas to be stressed out that long? If you have gigas can you share your experiences? What kind of water flow do they like? Should I feed it phyto?

Its not really a clam for a 50G tank that I see in your sig.

Under optimal condition it'll outgrow your tank.

well if its a 1" gigas why not

Cause h mentioned its a 3" Gigas, and if you give this clam stabilsed 420Ca + optimal water condition you'll see it growing in the rate of a bamboo plant.

i was just stating that a 1" gigas wouldnt be to big for his system hehe

I am moving this summer and actually am planning to swtich to a 90 or 120 G. so that's not my main concern.
