Daddy
Well last night, while the wife was throwing a SPA party. I deceided to cruise on down to the upcomming LFS(wants to remain anonomous) on the west side of Champaign. Its a nice little store, the equipment area leaves much to be desired. The prices are competetive with others. The fish room.....Uh, well, 3/4 is fresh water and they had no pumps or filtration going at all for at least the 30 min. I was there. Seems like both employees where up front talking and laughing on the phone. They have 6 or so marine tanks with a MAJOR cyno outbreak, some places up to 6 inches long.

I know they are still getting setup and this is the first time they have done this. But I don't think I would be letting customers see that. I was in there a few weeks ago and they had the same problem just alot smaller. I figured cycling tanks right? No. I don't think, they are fighting the problem at all. Right now, their stock consists of 2 tanks liverock, 2-5 fish, a couple inverts, and a couple anemones. Maybe in a few weeks I will go back and see how far they have progressed.

Sounds like premium pet supply and that idiot Bob that tells people you can keep clams under fluorescent tube bulbs.

I hate to be the one to break the mediocre news, he's
just talking about Leisure Time. Apparently they've
added some to their salt offerings.

say it ain't so! for many years i had hoped they'd pull their SW out completely. stores like that one are poster children for those who wish to regulate our hobby.

Were any of you around back in the day(20 years ago) when the SAME owner had a place called "The Pet Stop" on Springfield Ave? That place was a DUMP! There were more animals running wild in the place than in cages, more dead fish than live in the tanks LOL. When they moved the place literally got bulldozed!

Leisure Time has a new part time person to handle upgrades to their salt tanks. He has been making lost of changes to the system. It will take some time before he is able to turn things around. We will have to see how it goes. I wish him luck.
