The stripe will soon go, mine started with a stripe, then speckled , orange, green , bright yellow currently

Yep,

P. ciliata will change color after a molt to suit it's enviroment. It will never turn back into a color it originally already was to my knowledge.

Atempting to simulate an enviroment to get it to change to a good color may fail in the end or only last so long anyway.

Yesterday I got my hands on a small BRIGHT yellow ciliata. She is in a tank with nothing but yellow polyps it looks really cool.
