I just introduced a mated pair of clowns (percula) and i have a pre existing clown (percula). I was wondering if:

1. The mated pair will split because of the other clown

2. Should I get rid of the previous clown and whether i should put him in the fuge until the others aclamate fully

Ok so in my panic on what to do i posted this thread before doing research to find quick answers after doing some research i found some useful information to all with an "unknown" clown that:

Perculas have black pupils with a thin orange ring around them

Ocellaris have black pupils with a black ring around them

why did you buy a mated pair when you have one already. if you do not seperate them , there definetly a chance the mated pair will get split up.

i had an established pair for over one year. when i placed it temporarily during a water change in another tank with one clown, within 30 min, the pair was split and the new formed pair attacked the other one. i agree with sty, immediately remove the lone clown into your sump , etc and sell it, esp if you want a mated pair to breed.
