The body of the Dwarf Sea Hare is a combination of speckles and patterns. The location of its rhinophores (organ used to smell) and its oral tentacles make it look a bit like a rabbit, hence its common name.
If it becomes startled, it may release a purple dye to repel attacking fish. In the home aquarium, the Sea Hare will need a good chemical filter system to quickly remove this toxic dye before it causes problems.

In the wild, it is usually found in shallow areas of seagrasses and coral rubble, preferring the shaded areas. Cover from the lights in the aquarium should be provided. It requires a large area in which to move. It prefers an aquarium with live rock and open sandy areas so that it can graze on algae, eating any Caulerpa in the tank. It is sensitive to high levels of copper-based medications and will not tolerate bad water conditions (high nitrates).

If regular feedings of Caulerpa are not possible, it will need a supplemented diet of parboiled lettuce and dried kelp.

Saddly it didn't make it 24hrs.didn't know if it was sleeping or what this morning. Wife had it out of the tank before I got home from work. So off to Aquadreams. :(
 
Acclimate very slowly. Hard to keep long term as well. If they die in behind your rock, good luck getting them out.
 
This is a update. Lesson learned on my behalf "read your LFS store pollicies"
After I was displeased to find out that there is no refunds at all on inverts. I made a un called for comment to the staff that I was going to use the social network to share what I felt was a less than pleasing experiance.
As some of you know I prefer to purchase from a local store and not online. I beleive in supporting our local small businesses.
Like I said " I was out of line." So Chris... I am sorry. I sometimes speak and react to situations before I think. You have always been a big help to me and a honest business man. Please to you and your staff accept my appology. Thank you for throwing me a bone by giving me the store creddit. I understand your store pollicy and respect it. You will still have me as a loyal customer and I hope you forgive me for my actions.
