Love saltwater fishes...
Hi I have a tank now 75gal with 20 sump that is infested with marjento uptasia and someone told me that if I take down my tank and let it run for a f days with freshwater that they will all die. Is that true? If it is true then I will buy another tank to get it ready for my fishes to spend about six month on it until I get new dry rocks. I do not want live rock because I am afraid of marjentos and uptasias. I have been fighting these for the last five years. What do you suggest that I get another small tank have it set up let it cicle and move my fishes in it or save up the money to get a new set up with 150 gallons. The cost to get a temp tank will be about $1500 versus $6000;-(( I love my tank now but I do not have any idea if that investment will get ride of my uptasias and marjentos. Please help me. Then I need help with dead rocks what is the best way to cure it and what is the safest way and for how long?. Can I wash my rocks with Clorox? I know I would have to rinse it really well. But how long do I need to leave the rocks in a bucket to "cure" it?
