new tank

Shai Dorsai!
Greetings;

I like your idea of having an overflow extend the length of a tank. I plan to incorporate that when I upgrade to a 180 gallon tank sometime in the future. My initial plan is to have the seemingly standard 10x flow. I haven't been able to find any info on drilling the tank. Any suggestions for where I can find guidelines for the number of holes, their size, and their placement? Thanks.

its really more of a practical matter... one to be seen in person to really understand and appreciate the dynamics of water flow. Do seek shared pics of other aquarists plumbing on this and other BBs... consult the local aquarium societies to see pics of DIY plumbing and arrange to see other local aquarists set-ups... and do peep the LFS setups.

For techie data in general... I really like Pablo Escobal's Aquatic Systems Engineering

Best regards!

Escobal Book

All,

It appears that Ecobal's excellent book on aquatic engineering
is out of print. You might be able to find a used copy at one of
the online book stores.
