Hello everyone, I'm Ed Handal and new to this hobby.
I've done a lot of research before I baught my first 29g fish only tank, three months into it, my tank cracked because the stand was warped. So I figured it was time to upgrade to a 55g, eventually I added live sand and so far about 65lb of live rock. My most recent addition was a refugeium that I made out of a 10g tank with a hole that I drilled into the side of it to return the water back to the main tank.
The tenants of the tank include a yellow tang, yellow tail dansel, lawnmower blenny, three peppermint shrimps, seven emerald crabs, two diamond gobbies, two arrow head crabs, some snails, and a green mandarine.
I'm working on adding a collection of soft corals, but I can't decide what to get, so far I have a green star polyp and it seems to be doing well.
I'm always open for any suggestions or tips that anyone can offer.

Welcome to RC, Ed!

You found the right place to ask questions and read a lot. Get familiar with the search function--it can find a lot of great information (when it isn't disabled because of server load.)

Looks like you are on the right track there. I am hoping your fuge is well stocked with pods or that poor mandarine isnt going to make it very long unless he is one of the few that will eat prepared foods.

What type of lighting do you have? Do you run a skimmer? Tell us more :P

Well, I have a Prizm skimmer, two EHEIM 2213 canister filters, one of them is just for circulation purposes (or future upgrade to a 180g), the other with media in it, a 4 bulb setup with 2x55w actinic + 2x55w aquablue, two Maxi-Jet powerheads (one for circulation and the other to push water into the refuge), and a 200W heater.
The refuge has been well stocked with pods for the past 2 months or so, and I just got the mandarine by mail today.

I've had the arrowheads for about four months now and I didn't know they were evil!!!!! Do you suggest that I should possibly trade them at the pet store them before stocking up on corals??

bout time you get on here.

Welcome. like i told you at work, these guys can answer almost any question you could possibly have.
